Mission:
The mission of CGS is to enable students to understand and embrace the differences they will encounter in our increasingly global society. Students graduate with a sense of global awareness, social responsibility, and international-mindedness. Four factors uniquely position CGS students to bridge international and cultural distances:
Immersion in the study of global cultures
Creating global connections through study tours and homestays
Active learning through experiential learning and service learning
Studying with the International Baccalaureate MYP (tba) and Diploma Programs (tba)
CGS is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program and Middle Years Program. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School.* These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that CGS believes is important for our students. For more information about an IB education, check out these resources from the International Baccalaureate Organization.
*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org.

IB Middle Years Programme (Grades 9-10)
The MYP is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world.
The MYP is a five-year programme, which can be implemented in a partnership between schools, or in several abbreviated (two, three or four year) formats. Students who complete the MYP are well-prepared to undertake the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or Career-related Programme (CP). In order to receive the MYP Diploma, students must complete the MYP Personal Project by the end of their Sophmore year.
